Welcome! And Happy Holidays!

The New Glarus Youth Committee would like to help make every family’s Holiday a joyous one. We know that sometimes families are faced with hard times during the year but we believe that a child’s Holiday should be special. To that end, our group in cooperation with AnchorBank fsb, The Bank of New Glarus and New Glarus High School’s National Honor Society are participating in a Giving Tree campaign

If you are a family who could use help in purchasing gifts for your school aged children or you know of a family that could use a helping hand this season, please complete this form (PDF) and mail it to New Glarus Youth Committee, 313 12th Ave, New Glarus, WI 53574 so that we receive it by Nov. 18th at the latest.  You may also email the form to lokken313@gmail.com or drop the form off at The Bank of New Glarus, attention Sheri Kanter.  Use the back of the form for additional space, if needed.

We will create anonymous gift tags with the wishes of all participating families. The gift tags will be hung on Giving Trees at the above named locations. After the wishes have been filled, the gifts will be collected and packaged for pick up by parents on Friday Dec. 18, 2015 from 10:00am-6:30pm at Grace Church, 416 2nd St, New Glarus. This service is strictly confidential.

If your family is experiencing abundance this season and you would like to share it please send your donation to NG Youth Committee, 313 12th Ave, New Glarus, WI 53574 OR stop in at AnchorBank, New Glarus, The Bank of New Glarus or the New Glarus High School, take a tag off the giving tree, go shopping and feel the joy in your heart when you bring that unwrapped gift back to the tree.  You may also simply buy a gift for a child of any age and bring it to one of the participating locations.

Any questions, please contact Kim Lokken, (608)445-6910 lokken313@gmail.com or Sally Lamp, (608)527-5147 lampfin@chorus.net

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Here's a little bit about our group...

Music Fest is the product of the New Glarus Youth Committee, a non-profit organization formed by a group of New Glarus area citizens over 12 years ago with the intention of promoting  and facilitating the youth of the area. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 PM at Toffler's Pub & Grill. All meetings are open to the public and we always welcome new members to join. We vote and pass resolutions as a quorum.

Our largest fundraising activity is the annual New Glarus MUSIC FEST held each Memorial Holiday weekend (Friday-Sunday) with lots of recreational and play activities as well as a lively beer tent with food and bands lined up from early afternoon into the night. See the link for this year's line up.

We are also the sole sponsor of the annual LUNCH WITH SANTA held each December to the delight of hundreds of smaller children. We also organize the Youth Christmas Gifts project and the after-football game Frolic Night.

With the monies brought in from this festival (which is in it's 17th year!) we are then able to reach out to help our young people with grants and deeds throughout the year. Past donations include extra basketball court space and pool slide at the Village Park, bleachers at the football field, playground equipment at the New Glarus Woods State Park, Junior Great Books at the New Glarus Grade School and many more.
